Names a Target
Whether the video explicitly criticizes a named person, group, or institution — a named opponent, 'billionaires', the named administration — rather than speaking generically.
Named conflict is the strongest engagement primitive in political video. This binary separates real named-target attacks from generic 'the other side' talk, which behaves differently in the algorithm.
Average Video is the effect on a typical video. Top 10% Video is the effect on the videos that broke out (top decile of views) — so you can see whether a factor helps most videos a little, or pushes the top performers much higher.
When present
The video attacks a named person, group, or institution.
The Trump administration is dismantling the EPA — and they know exactly what they're doing.
When absent
No named target is criticized.
